Poça Beach

Take the train from Lisbon to Estoril and backtrack just slightly to the small cove beach of Praia da Poca for the perfect start to a walk to Cascais.

Praia da Poça, Estoril, Portugal

Or take the train to Cascais and this will be your last stop along the seaside walk back down the coast. Either way Praia da Poca is worthy of your attention.

Stop at one of the cafes along the boardwalk in Poca to grab a coffee and some food to fuel up for your stroll to Cascais or grab a beer and relax before heading home.

The actual beach here is pretty small, but it’s also going to be less crowded with tourists than the others along the promenade. The sand is near perfect and there is plenty of room for activities- you’re sure to see kids kicking around a football in the sand and lots of people cycling and running.

It has well marked swimming areas so it’s a nice place for a quick dip as well. The cove creates nice sized waves for some surfing (or surf watching).
