Inside a hostel hedged between the romantic São Pedro de Alcântara viewpoint and the top of the Glória Funicular, this restaurant prides itself on using fresh local produces and top-quality ingredients.

It attracts locals and tourists alike, serving food and drinks throughout the day till late – good spot for lunch, an afternoon snack or a late-dinner. Sunday is brunch day.

The menu features creative proposals (more options for dinner) with a few vegetarian dishes. Try ‘Portugal no Prato’, which means Portugal on a Plate, a huge rice casserole packed with fish, shrimp and coriander, or ‘Ficheiros secretos’ (aka The X Files), tender Iberian black pork belly steaks with smoked sausage and spinach.


Stylishly decorated, offers indoor and outdoor areas and the terrace presents nice views to the square and gardens.

Stay for as long as you want in the lounge bar nibbling snacks and enjoying delicious in-house cocktails made with seasonal ingredients or one of the wine from the extensive list.
